The safe voltage parameter of a transistor is that if the voltage of each electrode exceeds the safe value, there is a possibility of breakdown and damage.
IC: The maximum current allowed to pass through the collector of a transistor, which is the maximum operating current of the transistor.
PC: The maximum power of a transistor during operation.
H (FE) β: The amplification factor of the transistor when operating in an amplifying state, ICE=IBE * β,
High frequency transistor: a transistor with a working frequency greater than 3MHz.
Low power transistor: a transistor with a PC power of less than 1W.
Summary of Selection Points:
1. The breakdown voltage VCBO must be greater than the peak voltage in the application circuit, otherwise it may cause voltage breakdown.
2. The working current IC of the collector electrode must be greater than the peak current in the application circuit, otherwise it may cause excessive current breakdown.
3. The operating rate in the application circuit must be less than the maximum power PC of the transistor during operation, otherwise power damage (high temperature damage) is prone to occur.
4. When using a transistor as a switch, the h (FE) β value does not need to be considered. However, when used in an amplifier circuit, it must meet ICE=IBE * β, otherwise there may be insufficient load current drive, that is, the output power cannot meet the design requirements.
