Method for distinguishing the positive and negative poles of light-emitting diodes
1. Method for distinguishing the positive and negative poles of T-shaped surface mounted light-emitting diodes
Surface mount light-emitting diodes are generally distinguished between positive and negative poles in two common ways, the first being the T-shaped method. On the positive side of this method, the side with a green dot represents the negative electrode, and the other side represents the positive electrode. From the bottom, there is a green T-shaped shape, with the horizontal bar representing the positive pole and the vertical bar representing the negative pole
2. Method for distinguishing the positive and negative poles of triangular patch light-emitting diodes
The second common identification method for surface mount light-emitting diodes is represented by triangular symbols. When viewed from the front, the side with a green dot is in the positive direction, and the other side is in the negative direction. From the bottom, the sides of the triangle correspond to the positive pole, and the angles of the triangle correspond to the negative pole.
3. Method for distinguishing the positive and negative poles of direct insertion light-emitting diodes
Directly inserted light-emitting diodes are commonly used, and their positive and negative poles are easy to distinguish. The lengths of the two direct insertion pins are different. The long pin is the positive pole, and the short pin is the negative pole.
4. Method for distinguishing the positive and negative poles of surface mount diodes
A diode is a semiconductor device with unidirectional conductivity, commonly packaged in direct insertion and patch types. The positive and negative terminals of a diode are distinguished differently from those of an LED. A diode is distinguished between positive and negative poles by a horizontal bar. Whether it is a patch or a direct insertion, the side with a horizontal bar is the negative terminal of the diode, and the other side is the positive terminal.
