Schottky diodes have followed the pace of technology and entered people's lives and work. Industry insiders know that Schottky diodes have many problems in use. So, what should be noted for Schottky diodes in practical applications? Today, Chenda Xing will give you some professional answers:
1. For application circuits with high surge voltage or surge current, suppression and absorption circuits should be added.
2. The peak operating voltage of the application circuit should be less than the maximum reverse breakdown voltage Vrrm of the Schottky diode.
3. The actual operating temperature rise of the Schottky diode in the application circuit should be less than the maximum junction temperature Tjmax of the Schottky diode.
4. Less than the forward rated current IF of the Schottky diode.
5. For harsh environments, in order to ensure reliability, Schottky diodes should be downgraded for use.
6. The replacement of Schottky diodes should preferably choose the original model, as the forward voltage drop VF, reverse breakdown voltage VR, and reverse leakage current IR of different Schottky diode models are different.
If applied in the power circuit of a computer case, it will cause the+5V and+12V voltages to deviate too much from normal values, and the power consumption will increase compared to before.
