There are many types of transistors, classified as follows:
If classified by manufacturing materials, it can be divided into silicon triodes and germanium triodes.
If classified by conductivity type, it can be divided into PNP type and NPN type. Germanium transistors are mostly PNP type, while silicon transistors are mostly NPN type.
If classified by operating frequency, it can be divided into low-frequency diodes and high-frequency diodes. The working frequency of low-frequency diodes is generally below 3MHz, while the working frequency of high-frequency diodes can reach several hundred MHz.
If classified according to the allowed dissipation power, it can be divided into low-power diodes and high-power diodes. The rated power consumption of low-power transistors is generally below 1W, while the rated power consumption of high-power transistors is over tens of watts.
